The current turbulent market is without doubt forcing changes, both positive and negative, on most people’s careers and lives. These changes often require us to shift our priorities which in turn can easily lead us to neglecting other important areas of our life. As a result it is very easy for us to end up feeling that our life is somehow ‘off balance’. This in turn will affect our overall sense of wellbeing which is important if we are to cope with everyday life challenges.

They say “April showers bring May flowers” For those of us that prefer fair weather we quickly realise that to enjoy the flowers in bloom we must accept that rain is necessary. In a similar sense for us to enjoy a happy and satisfied career or life we must first plant the seeds for success and make the effort to keep them watered. That may for some happen by chance just as we experience April shower however for others we will need to get out the watering can. May the month of April be filled with renewed energy, hope and limitless opportunity.

On a personal note, as nature's green shoots pop up all around us I start to feel more positive and energised. Unfortunately the green shoots of economic recovery are not so evident. For most sectors things remain slow. However this should not stop us from using this as an opportunity to review our strategy, our successes and challenges and devising a plan for the future. Through my newsletters I hope to provide you with some food for thought to help you as you move forward.
